GERUNDS / FİİLİMSİLER


1. İngilizce'de fiile -ing ekleyerek isim yapabiliriz. İngilizce'de fiile -ing eklenerek isimleştirilen kelimelere Gerund adı verilir.

Verb swim (yüzmek) talk (konuşmak) read (okumak) work (çalışmak)

Noun reading (okuma) swimming (yüzme) talking (konuşma) working (çalışma)

2. Fiilimsiler (Gerunds) Ingilizce'de özne veya nesne olarak kullanılırlar.

Özne olarak kullanım:   Swimming is useful for our health.   Playing tennis is his favourite sport.   Learning grammar isn't easy.

Nesne olarak kullanım:   I enjoy reading books.   She hates watching television.   We love eating cakes. .

3. Her -ing takısı almış kelime gerund değildir. Bazen sıfat ve fiil olarak karşımıza çıkabilir.

Örnek:

I am reading a newspaper. (verb)
The film is very interesting.(adjective)
I like swimming. (gerund)

4. Fiilimsiler (gerunds) 'it' ile yer değiştirilebilir. -ing takısı almış bir kelimenin gerund olup olmadığını bu şekilde anlayabiliriz.

Örnek:

He is reading a newspaper. (He is it a newspaper.)
The film was very exciting. (The film was it.)
She enjoys cooking. (She enjoys it.)
